This is a small, grass-like carnation plant and one of my rarest wild plants. In Finland this plant is endangered and protected, growing in only few places. In my garden it prefers the dry sandy southern slope. The seeds have certainly followed me from Eastern Finland when I have been collecting butterflies there. The odor of this plant is strong and charming attracting a lot of hawk moths during the night.
