Mahonia aquifolium (Mahonia)

An evergreen bush from western North America. I got the small plant from my friend 2018. It has grown well and seems to tolerate our cold climate without any problems. Strong sunshine in the spring can be a greater problem and destroy the leaves. The flowers are a beautiful early color spot in otherwise leafless after-winter garden. The blue berries are edible but acrid.
